Take your children to educational amusement parks. Instead of taking them to the department store, why not take them to a museum, a science center, or a zoo for a change? Traveling abroad with your children is the best option if you have enough money.

Let your child use your computer. Computers never fail to amaze people, especially young children. Buy educational software and let your child use the software every day.
Remind them that they have to get good grades if they want to get a job. Don't shelter them from everything. Explain to them that some people need to go to the soup kitchen to eat and that they are lucky to have a roof over their head.

Tell them that they are lucky to get an education and that you will help them succeed in life. You could incorporate mathematics to daily tasks and situations.  Incorporate counting, reading, and writing to daily chores. For example, you take them to the market and make them buy certain items such a fruit. Have them recite the name of the fruit in a foreign language. They'll love it!

Children  should learn the importance speaking a foreign language. However, there are  some kids who insist on doing things their way and just won't listen to you. How could you motivate your children or teenagers to learn a foreign language?

Children are naturally adventurous and inquisitive. They may be wondering why you love reading books or magazines in Chinese. Tell them that reading a book in a foreign language makes you really happy and proud. Encourage them to pick up a book. Tell them that learning a foreign language will help them get a good job.

Be creative when teaching children during their formative years. If you are not a teacher, you should still strive to be an effective home tutor to your kids. As a parent, you should also learn how to make your children enjoy learning and studying. You need to find fun activities that could help your children develop an interest for foreign languages.

Language-Learning Tip + Announcement

If you haven't learned your vocabulary for today, get your flash cards right now. Learn ten words and stop. This may seem like a simplistic piece of advice, but it isn't. If you force yourself to work every day, you'll get better faster.

Listening to your target language is very important. You should listen to the language you're studying every day if you want to become fluent. How do you expect to be able to watch TV if you never watch Japanese or Chinese shows? If you never listen to the radio in French, guess what? You'll never be able to understand the news in French. You need to immerse yourself in the language like a baby. This way, you'll get used to the sound of your second language.

I suggest you use Google to find radio stations that you can listen to while you're using the computer.
Do it right now. Open a new tab and search "Chinese radio stations" or "Japanese radio stations"!
If you're learning Spanish, you can google "escuchar la musica" or something similar. Youtube is a great resource to find resources in your target language.
